A Catholic girl and a Jewish boy

 

 

A Catholic girl and a Jewish boy fell madly in love with each other. But their religious beliefs interfered with their marriage plans. The girl’s mother, a staunch Catholic, advised her daughter to teach the boy the joys of Catholicism. “Make him a Catholic,” she said.

 

The girl did as she was told. She taught him and taught him, and the wedding date was finally fixed. But a day before the marriage, the girl came home crying and told her mother, “The marriage is off.” “Why?” the mother wanted to know.

 

“Didn’t you teach him Catholicism?”

 

“I think I over taught him,” said the girl. “Now he wants to become a priest.”.
