Feast Day : October 31
Also known as: Quintin, Quintinus
Quentin went to Gaul as a missionary with St. Lucian of Beauvais. He settled at Amiens in Picardy, where he enjoyed great success as a preacher. The prefect Rictiovarus had him imprisoned and tortured. Quentin was taken to Augusta Veromanduorum (which became Saint-Quentin), where he was again tortured and then was beheaded. He is often depicted in art as a soldier or bishop holding two spits.
