Feast Day : June 16
Also known as: Cyr, in France
During Christian persecutions, Julitta attempted to find safety with her son in Seleucia, Tarsus, but was arrested. Quiricus was made to watch her be tortured. Struggling, he declared himself a Christian as well, and then was either dashed to death on stone steps or beaten to death before his mother’s eyes. Julitta was beheaded. The story may be all or part fiction. In the fourth century, the relics of Quiricus and his mother reportedly were taken to France and distributed to several churches and monasteries.
