Saint Quirinus-Roman tribune and martyr

Feast Day : March 30

 

 

According to tradition, he was the jailer of Pope St. Alexander I (r. 105–115), and was converted with his daughter, Balbina. He is buried with her in the Praetextatus catacomb on the Via Appia. In 1050, Pope Leo IX (r. 1049–54) gave his relics to his sister, Gepa, abbess of Neuss, who placed them in the Church of St. Quirinus there.
