Feast Day : October 13
Also known as: Theophilus of Antioch
Theophilus was a pagan philosopher and converted to Christianity after studying the Scriptures. He was active during the reign of Pope Soter (169–177) and was alive after the death of Emperor Marcus Aurelius in 180. Theophilus was an eloquent Christian apologist. His only surviving work is Autolycus, which champions Christianity over paganism and develops the doctrine of the Word as found in the Gospel of John.
