Jesus Feeds Us
Sheep without a shepherd go hungry. They do not have adequate nourishment. They are often unaware of the landscape, which provides good and rich nourishment. As a result they either go hungry or are often undernourished So is it with people.
We all have needs, both spiritual and temporal, but we do not go to the right source to satisfy our needs. We, often, land up finding poor substitutes poor in quality and quantity, to satisfy our spiritual and temporal needs. We are like the Israelites who had forsaken the Lord, the spring of living water, and have dug their own cisterns, broken cisterns that cannot hold water (cf. Jer 2:13).
Jesus is the Shepherd of God to feed and inspire our souls; He is the Source Who satisfies our inner longings for love, joy, peace, patience, kindness and generosity. Jesus declared, "I am the bread of life. He who comes tome shall never be hungry and he who believes in me will never be thirsty (Jn 6:33) The food that Jesus gives us is His body. He said, “I am the living bread that came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever. This bread is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world (Jn 6:5 1).”
