Prophetic Name Of Jesus -Shiloh
Catholic Church 28-12-2023, 19:33
One of the earliest of the titles the book of Genesis applies to the coming Messiah in the Old Testament is “Shiloh.” As Jacob was blessing his sons and prophesying concerning the twelve tribes of Israel, he said: “The sceptre shall not depart from Judah, nor a lawgiver from between his feet, until Shiloh come; and unto him shall the gathering of the people be” (Genesis 49:10). The name Shiloh means “peace maker” and closely relates to one of Isaiah's birth names for Jesus, “the Prince of Peace” (Isaiah 9:6). This prophecy affirms that Shiloh would come from the royal tribe of Judah, wield a temporal scepter, and possess a sovereignty of a different character.
