An Evening Prayer of Confidence (A Psalm of David)

 

Psalm 4:1 Answer me when l call, O God, my justice! When I was in distress, you gave me solace. Have compassion on me and hear my plea.

 

Psalm 4:2 How long, you mortals, will you harden your hearts? How long will you delight indeceit? How long will you love what is false?

 

Psalm 4:3 You must know that the LORD does wonders for his faithful people; the LORD hears me when I call to him.

 

Psalm 4:4 ln your anger do not sin; ponder in your heart when you are on bed.

 

Psalm 4:5 Offer right sacrifices, and put your trust in the LORD.

 

Psalm 4:6 Many ask, “When are we to see better times? Let your face shine upon us, O LORD!"

 

Psalm 4:7 Let them rejoice in their abundantewine and grain; you have given far more to me.

 

Psalm 4:8 I lie down, and at once l sleep in peace, for you alone, O LORD , make me rest in safety.
