What is Jesus?

Jesus said, “I am the living Bread.” He is the Bread of life.  Jesus as the Bread of life. As bread is essential for life, so is Jesus. As bread nourishes us, relishes us and perpetuates our life, so does Jesus. Jesus is the essential of life. To refuse and reject Jesus is to reject life. The Jewish rabbis used to say, ‘the generations in the wilderness have no part in the life to come.’ In the book of Numbers some people refused to court danger to enter the Promised Land after the report of the scouts. They refused the guidance of God and as a result they died in the wilderness without entering the Promised Land. The rabbis used to say, ‘those fathers who died in the wilderness’ not only missed the Promised Land, they also missed the life to come.

To refuse Jesus who is the Bread of Life is not only to miss Iife in this world but also to miss life in the world to come.
