Jesus Christ, Son of God, first-born of all creation, Savior
God’s greatest work is the incarnation of his Son, Jesus Christ. The first-born of all creation, he takes precedence over all and all things are held together in him (Col 1:15-17). In him, through him and for him all things have been created (Col 1:15, ff).
Having become obedient unto death, he was exalted as Lord of all and was made manifest to us through the resurrection as Son of God by a mighty act (see Rom 1:4). First-born from the dead, he gave life to all (1 Cor 15:22). In him we have been made a new creation (see Eph 2:10). Through him all of creation will be freed from the slavery of corruption (see Rom 8:19-21). “There is no salvation in anyone else at all.” (Acts 4:12)
