O Mother of Perpetual Help, behold at your feet a wretched sinner who trustfully turns to you. Mother of Mercy, have pity on me. I hear all people call you the refuge and hope of sinners. Be then my refuge and my hope. Help me for the love of Jesus Christ; hold out your hand to one who is forever at your service. Praise and thanks be to God, who in his great mercy has given me this trust in you, sure pledge of my eternal salvation. It is only too true that in the past I have fallen miserably, because I did not turn to you. I know that with your help I will conquer. I know that you will help me if I commend myself to you. But I fear that in the occasions of sin I may forget to call upon you and so be lost. This, then, is the grace I ask of you; for this I implore you with all my heart and soul: that in the assaults of hell I may ever run to your protection and say to you: Help me, Mary; Mother of Perpetual Help, let me not lose my God.
