Friday Chaplet To The Sacred Heart Of Jesus

 

1. O Jesus Master, I, an unworthy sinner, prostrate before you, adore your sacred Heart, which has so loved men and has spared itself no effort on my behalf. I believe in your infinite love for me. I thank you for your great gifts to men: the Gospel, the Eucharist, the Church, the priesthood, the religious state, Mary our Mother, and life itself.

 

O Jesus divine Master, I thank and bless your generous Heart for the great gift of the Gospel. You yourself have said, “I am sent to preach the gospel to the poor.” Your words are the words of eternal life. In the Gospel you have unveiled divine mysteries, taught the way to God ،n truth, offered the means of salvation.

 

Grant me the grace to guard your holy Gos pel with reverence, to hear it read and to read it myself according to the spirit of the Church, and to spread its message with the same love with which you have preached it. Let it be known, honoured, received by all. Let the world conform its life, its laws, its customs, its doctrine to the precepts of your Gospel. Let the fire which you brought upon earth enkindle, enlighten and warm all men.

2. O Jesus Divine Master, I thank and bless your loving Heart for the great gift of the holy Eucharist. Your love makes you dwell in our tab ernacles, to renew your passion and death in the Mass. to give yourself as food to our souls in holy Communion.

 

May I come to know you, O hidden God. May I drink from the fount of living waters that flow from your Heart. Grant me to visit you every day in this holy sacrament; to assist at holy Mass with understanding; to receive you in holy communion often and with the proper dispositions. May all men respond to your invitation, “Come to me all you who are burdened.”

3. O Jesus Divine Master, I bless and thank your sweet Heart for the gift of holy mother Church. She is the mother who teaches us in truth, who guides us on the way to heaven, who com- municates the supernatural life to us. She contin ues your mission of salvation on earth, as your mystical Body. She is the ark of salvation. She is infallible, unfailing, catholic.

 

Grant me the grace to love her as you loved her and sanctified her in your bkod. May the world come to know her; may all sheep enter your fold; may all men come to acknowledge humbly that you are King.

4. O Jesus Divine Master, I thank and bless your loving Heart for the institution of the Priest hood. Priests are sent by you as you were sent by the Father. To them you have entrusted the treasures of your doctrine, of your law, of your grace, and souls themselves. Grant me the grace to love them, to hear them, to permit them to guide me along your paths. Send good workers into your vineyard, O Jesus. May our priests be the salt which purifies and preserves; may they be the light of the world; may they be the city set on a hill; may they be formed after your sacred Heart; may they find around them in heaven, as their crown and joy, a large number of souls whom they have won for you.

5. O Jesus Divine Master, I thank and bless your hol‎y Heart for the institution of the religious state. As in heaven so also on earth there are many mansions. You have chosen the children of your special love, calling them to evangelical perfection, and making yourself their example, their support, their reward.

Multiply, O divine Heart, religious vocations. Keep them in the faithful observance of your counsels. Let them be the sweetest flowers in the Church. Let them be the souls that console you, pray to you, and are most zealous for your honour.

6. O Jesus Divine Master, I thank and bless your affectionate Heart for having given me Mary as my mother, teacher and queen. On the cross you entrusted all men to her keeping. You be stowed on her a great capacity to love, great wisdom and great power.

 

 

May all men know her, love her and pray to her. May all men permit her to lead them to you, the Saviour of men. I entrust myself to her keeping just as you did while on earth, to be with her now, at the hour of death and in eternity.

7. O Jesus Divine Master, I thank and bless your loving Heart which led you to give your love for me. Your blood, your wounds, the scourges, the thorns, the cross, your head bowed in death, all speak to my heart. Ho one loves more than the one who gives his life for the loved one. The shepherd dies in giving his life for his sheep. I too want to spend my life for you.

 

Grant that you may always dispose of me for your greater glory. May I always repeat, “Your will be done.” Inflame thy heart with your holy love fur souls, so that I may love them and be prepared to make the utmost sacrifice for them.
