Fear Is Part of Life

Fear is a gift from God, a messenger of safety so to say. Fear has many useful purposes. It could warn us so as to protect us from harm, prepare us to face difficult situations courageously, insist and enable us to face and accept our limitations and our vulnerability. Before we repress or suppress our fears, we need to listen to the message inherent in them. Fear has force and energy, even grace. In fact, fear can be an instrument of our conversion. Constantly reminding us of the transcendental aspect of our humanity, fear can take us closer to God. It can increase our trust in Divine providence. It can point out to our powerlessness and invite us to surrender to the all-mighty God.
