Glorious patriarch, holy father Benedict, I call to mind the glorious grace our Lord bestowed on you of breathing out your last breath amid words of prayer. Even your lips exhale such fragrance that it elates all other saints with delight. I ask you to be with me at the hour of my death, as a trusty comforter, placing yourself between me and the enemies around me. Shield me by your presence so that I may avoid all the pitfalls my enemies have in store for me. Help me to safely reach the joys of eternal happiness in heaven.
