Jesus Protects Us
There is always a danger that lurks for a sheep without a shepherd. It is always open to be attacked by the predators anywhere and anytime. There is hardly any place where it could find a safe shelter. The world is too vast and varied a place with concealed dangers at every nook and corner. There are rugged terrains, narrow ridges, deep ravines and crevices. One could get lost and hurt in any one of these pitfalls. Or a journey through all of these may sap the energy, and eventually, take its toll by taking its life. So is it with people.
This world is rampant with vices - fornication, impurity, licentiousness, idolatry, sorcery, enmities, envy, drunkenness, carousing (cf. Gal 5:19-21). The pitfalls in the world are myriad, and to anyone of these we could easily fall. We, by ourselves cannot protect or save us. We need someone to protect us from these myriad pitfalls. Our need is great, but we have a great Savior - Jesus to satisfy our need. We have the Wonderful and all sufficient Jesus who is the only One to perfectly protect and save us.
Let us take protection under Jesus, for He is the sympathetic Savior. King David said, “He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty (Ps 91:1).” “Let us, therefore, approach the throne of grace With boldness, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need (Heb 4:15-16)”
