The Two Reigns
Psalm 2:1.Why are the nations in tumult? Why do the peoples plot in vain?
Psalm 2:2 The kings of the earth brace themselves, and the rulers together take their stand against the LORD and his anointed.
Psalm 2:3 They say, “Let us break their fetters! Let us cast away their ‘chains!"
Psalm 2:4 He who is enthroned in heaven laughs, the LORD scoffs at them.
Psalm 2:5 Then in anger he speaks to them, terrifying them in the fury of his wrath:
Psalm 2:6 “l have anointed my king on Zion, emyholy hill!"
Psalm 2:7 l will proclaim the decree of the LORD. He said to me, “You are my son. This day I have begotten you.
Psalm 2:8 Ask of me and l will give you the nations as your inheritance, the ends of the earth for your possession.
Psalm 2:9 You shall rule them with iron sceptre and shatter them as a potter’s vase.”
Psalm 2:10 Now, therefore, learn wisdom, O kings; be warned, O rulers of the earth.
Psalm 2:11 Serve the LORD with fear and with trembling fall at his feet; lest he be angry and you perish when his anger suddenly flares. Blessed are all who take refuge in him!
